Geirthana Nandakumaran

Board Member

Geirthana Nandakumaran (she/her) is an artist and arts worker, figuratively caught between the shores of Tamil Eelam and so-called Sydney. Her artistic practice investigates liminal identity, relating her environments through spatial and cultural investigations of selfhood, and Sri Lankan Tamil-Australian cultures. Her conceptual focus also extends to accessibility & cultural diversity in the GLAM sector, as she values how those othered by institutions can drive progressive change in the contemporary social and cultural context, to create an inclusive arts ecosystem. In 2022 she completed the Disability and Culturally Diverse Internship Program, a partnership between Accessible Arts and Diversity Arts in 2022, hosted by Screen Australia. She has collaborated with Kudos Gallery and participated in group shows including Kudos All Stars, and Unboxed at the Estonian Society of Sydney. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science/Fine Arts with distinction from UNSW, Sydney.
