Award-winning artist and filmmaker Emily Dynes traces the shifting landscapes of identity and place, creating work that moves between the intimate and the immense. Her practice spans photography, sound, and moving image, capturing the choreography of community, connection and care. Her work has been featured in the Melbourne International Film Festival, Aesthetica Film Festival, My Queer Career, Leeds International Film Festival, Short of The Week, Director’s Notes, Boom.TV, BIFF’s Young Australian Filmmaker Nominees, Frankie Magazine’s Good Stuff Awards and St Kilda Film Festival. Emily was awarded Best Australian Short Film at the 2024 Melbourne Queer Film Festival and the Milestone Creative Australia Filmmaker Award at the 2025 AWMAs, and is currently nominated for the 2025 Iris Prize.
