Operating across the web under the moniker @gigis_revenge_, giana festa is an early-career artist, digital producer, and amateur internet theorist living and working on unceded Gadigal Land in sydney, australia. working across mediums including creative code, prose, poetry, and memes, giana’s work often explores digital semiotics and the volatile lifecycle of systems of meaning online. she has no formal arts education, lending a idiosyncratic perspective to her experience that encourages reflexive, critical work imbued with wit and post-ironic contextual awareness. informed by her experience living with ASD, giana’s work is often a post-ironic interrogation of interpersonal relationships and how they manifest in the perverse, post-human simulacrum of the digital realm. 

giana is deeply interested in the political economy of the internet and is passionate about demystifying, democratising, and sometimes also destroying technology. through her work she seeks to share otherwise gate-kept technical knowledge on how to navigate the internet from a peer-to-peer, antitechnocratic perspective. through her practice she seeks to hold a space for her audience to make sense of their own lives online, and together imagine accessible, equitable digital futures.
