Liza Moscatelli is a versatile artist, as well as a Social Work practitioner and academic, residing on Darug lands in Western Sydney. Her creative expressions encompass an array of mediums, including photography, videography, graphic design, and illustration. With more than a decade of experience, Liza has been an integral part of the Sydney music scene, capturing moments from both international and local musicians and public figures.

Liza's directorial venture, 'It's Our Duty! Reflections of Women & Hip Hop,' features an all-female cast spanning generations and diverse identities. This film delves into the impact of arts and music on social change, highlighting hip-hop pioneers such as Maya Jupiter, MC Trey, Kween G, Zeadala, DJ Josie Styles, and multidisciplinary artists Merenia Marin and Ghenoa Gela. This remarkable piece was screened at the 2022 Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) in Brisbane, accompanied by a panel discussion on 'Diversity & Inclusivity: Women & Hip Hop' with fellow artists.

Further extending her artistic reach, Liza's work was showcased at the Travelling Sounds: Music & Migration in Western Sydney exhibition, where she contributed photographic portraits of prominent Western Sydney artists.

In 2022, Liza exhibited a series of digital illustrations featuring female artivists from her film at the BUFFET exhibition hosted by Palava, an all-female community arts collective.

Beyond her creative endeavors, Liza has spent over a decade conducting multimedia arts-based workshops in collaboration with diverse communities and local councils. These workshops have not only enriched her research with young refugees in Western Sydney but also amplified their voices using the Photovoice visual research method.

Liza's commitment to community development is evident in her co-founding of the Bayanihan Filipino community group, dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of the Filipino diaspora. Additionally, she contributes to Koori Radio 93.7FM's Puha & Pork Bones Radio Show, where she advocates for social justice, promotes various artists, community events, and programs.

Liza's work is underpinned by social justice principles, aiming to empower marginalised voices through genuine storytelling and visual communication, thus making their narratives more visible and authentic.
