Margaret Brink is an artist based in Sydney. She is currently working toward the completion of her MFA at Sydney college of the Arts. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Australia and New Zealand and presented her first solo show, County Athletics, at Knulp in May.
Working predominantly in oils, Margaret is interested in using painting and sculpture to generate an awkward exchange, using fragmented and often banal images to build ambiguous and layered representations. In this process, Margaret expresses a desire to make connections and perceive meaning in seemingly disparate images. The absurdity of this enterprise is fundamental to the images she sources.
