Susie Anderson writes words that come out of the land and go into people. Her practice is concerned with the distances between place, people and culture, themes she explores through poetry and non-fiction. She has performed widely at festivals and events across Australia. Selected recent publications, print and online, include: The National 2019 Exhibition Catalogue, Growing Up Aboriginal in Australia, Artlink, un magazine, Runway Magazine, Blak Brow, Suburban Review. Recent residencies include a 2019 Overland Poetry Writer in Residence, 2018 State Library x Emerging Writers Festival Fellow and a 2016 residency at Banff Centre in Canada. A Wergaia/Wemba Wemba woman, she grew up in regional Victoria and now lives in Melbourne.
