Tess Allas holds a Masters of Curation from the University of Sydney and is an award-winning visual arts curator, researcher and writer specialising in contemporary Indigenous art. She has worked in Indigenous cultural development since the early 1990s and has been engaged as a curator for the Art Gallery of NSW, Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Cooperative, the Kluge Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection, the Art Gallery of South Australia, Murray Art Museum Albury, Campbelltown Arts Centre, and the Sydney Festival. Her independently curated exhibitions as well as her own works as an artist have been shown in the Australia, Finland, Canada and the United States. Tess is currently curating a major exhibition for Wollongong Art Gallery that will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation (March-June 2023).
