Music and sound art forms a large portion of Adams’ art practice. This piece depicts her performing alongside other members at Studio ARTES’ Midyear Show. Crystal creates narrative rich, experimental music imagining herself as a variety of characters in fantasy situations often interspliced with her own life, interests, thoughts and day to day experiences. When making music Crystal enjoys the chance to collaborate and work with others in a structured way as well as the opportunity to express ideas in ways not limited to words and the emotional catharsis of making a lot of noise. Performing also offers Crystal the chance to embody an alter ego who is confident, in her power on stage and respected for her skills as a musician and storyteller.
