Announcing the 2021–22 Firstdraft Board of Directors

We are delighted to announce the 2021–22 Firstdraft Board of Directors: Laura Couttie, Holly Farrell, Dennis Golding, Karen Golland, M. Sunflower, Gillian Kayrooz and Heather Tralaggan.

They join 2020–21 directors Hannah Jenkins, Yuki Kawakami, and Thea Perkins as Firstdraft expands our commissioning interfaces and strengthens curatorial oversight across our artistic program. Their skills and experience will be valuable as we continue to provide opportunities for artists, curators and writers to develop new and experimental approaches to contemporary practice.

Firstdraft is also excited to announce the inaugural appointment of two regional NSW-based practitioners to the board, as we renew our commitment to creating connections across NSW and supporting the professional development of regional artists and arts workers.

Kym Elphinstone is an arts advisor, advocate and the founder of Articulate, Australia's leading cultural agency, and its sister content agency, The Golden Mean.

James Little

James Little is an artist and arts professional who has exhibited around Australia. He was the co-founder of Nicholas Projects, a curated gallery space in Melbourne.

Monica Rani Rudhar

Monica Rani Rudhar is an artist whose work spans video, performance and sculpture and speaks to longing and loss as she navigates the cultural disconnection that stems from the complexities of her multiracial ethnicity.

Michelle Wang

Michelle Wang is an art consultant, curator and writer who is passionate about ways of making the arts inclusive and accessible, through collaboration, experimentation and uplifting the voices of Australia's diaspora communities.

Olivia Welch

Olivia Welch is Exhibitions Manager at Museums & Galleries of NSW, developing touring exhibitions and associated sector development.
