Firstdraft x Canberra Contemporary: Exhibition Exchange

‘Three Days Walk’ will present the work of one Canberra-based artist at Sydney’s Firstdraft, while one Sydney-based artist will exhibit at Platform, Canberra Contemporary’s project space. Each artist will be paired with one arts writer from the host city, who will be commissioned to develop a new critical and/or creative text in response to the exhibition.
Successful applicants receive:
Artists:
$1,500 artist fee
$1,250 contribution toward travel, freight, accommodation
A fully subsidised six-week exhibition
Access to Firstdraft’s equipment and resources
Marketing and communications support, including professional documentation
An opening night event and an artist/s talk
Professional exhibition invigilation
Commissioned Exhibition essay
Writers:
$750 writer’s fee each
Editorial support from Firstdraft and Canberra Contemporary
Critical engagement with a project or artist in the Firstdraft/Platform program
Online publication of the developed text
