stockpiler

Emilee Robinson

Roomsheet

stockpiler is an installation drawn from the remnants of her childhood garage, a room shaped by generations of quiet accumulation and a mosaic of several conflated identities.

The project frames this storage space as an accidental archive shaped by her mother’s compulsion to hold on to everything - a portal to a former self, a place where memory, debris and time collapse into one unstable record. Faded toys, photographs and boxes of ephemera all find their home here, yet the instinct to safeguard what is already half-gone persists. Robinson describes a near-genetic impulse to preserve these traces of memory: a frantic desire to translate and rescue their meaning before it disintegrates.

Through fragile reconstructions, the artist documents moments in time she was never fully witness to. stockpiler becomes a way of meeting this past on borrowed time, holding what remains before it fades completely.
