terms and conditions of entry
When you are visiting Firstdraft you are welcome to:
Eat and drink in the courtyard and gallery spaces where appropriate or unless otherwise signed as prohibited, taking care to respect the spaces, exhibitions and all artworks
Bring prams and strollers into the courtyard and downstairs galleries, taking care to avoid artworks, property or other visitors. For safety, we request that prams and strollers be left at the bottom of our stairs when viewing the upstairs galleries.
Breast or bottle feed infants anywhere in the galleries or courtyard.
Bring Guide Dogs and other registered assistance animals into the courtyard and Galleries. All animals are welcome in our courtyard.
We encourage you to take photos (without flash), film and share your visit except in areas where photography and filming are signed as restricted
Photography and filming for any commercial purpose requires prior written permission from Firstdraft
Close up photography or filming of children is not permitted without permission from the child’s carer.
We ask that you treat each other and our team with respect and kindness.
This includes;
Treating all staff and other visitors with respect
Conduct yourself in a manner which, in the reasonable opinion of Firstdraft staff, does not interfere with, disrupt or offend others
Comply with any Firstdraft rules or policies,
We oppose hate speech in any form and will not tolerate harassment or abusive behaviour.
For your safety, the safety of others and the safety of our exhibitions we request you:
Be mindful of large personal items, such as bags or umbrellas, around artwork in our gallery spaces
Do not touch, or in any other way, interfere with artworks unless otherwise labelled or signed as interactive
Supervise any children under the age of 12 for whom you are responsible
Wear footwear at all times
Not run in Gallery spaces
Not smoke.
Firstdraft is a tenant of City of Sydney and does not permit spruiking, the unapproved distribution of printed material or merchandise, or the unapproved display of audio-visual materials.
Firstdraft reserves the right to:
Exclude or remove any person from the premises
Photograph, film or record events and activities taking place on Gallery premises for reporting, archival and promotional purposes
Firstdraft is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings.
Firstdraft is committed to the safety of all visitors, staff and artists
In case of emergency, follow the directions of gallery staff for evacuation procedures
Some event activities may be dangerous. Visitors participating in these events do so at their own risk. Firstdraft will take every precaution to ensure the safety of visitors.
