Eddie Abd

Eddie Abd is a visual artist and arts worker living on Darug and Gundungurra country.

For the past 10 years she has been a part of community arts projects as a participant, facilitator and creative producer working across Western Sydney. Before 2009, she worked as a broadcast journalist for SBS Arabic Radio.

In her practice Eddie explores how diasporic cultural identities are constructed and consumed in various socio-political environments. 

She is the recipient of the 2021 Blake Prize (Emerging Artist)  and is shortlisted  for the 2021 Create NSW Emerging Artist Fellowship.

Born in Lebanon in 1979, Eddie studied Fine Arts (Painting) at the Lebanese University. After immigrating to Australia in 2001 she completed a Bachelor of Digital Media at the University of New South Wales (COFA).
