Ile Ilu

Ile Ilu was created to assist the community, particularly women, to experience drumming, dance, music and rhythm as pathways to connection, joy and empowerment.

Ile Ilu – or ‘House of Drums’ – is a women’s drumming and percussion group based in Sydney on the Gadigal, Bidjigal, Darkinjung Lands and Waters of the Eora Nation, led by multi-instrumentalist Marina Da Silva. Ile Ilu is on a journey to bring fun, inspiration, connection, women’s empowerment and beautiful rhythms from Brazil and beyond!

The colours of Ile Ilu are pnk, green and gold. These colours represent Sisterhood, Roots and Magic, and remind us of the importance of connection, creativity, caring for each other and our world.
