Margaret Hancock

Margaret Hancock is a visual arts, crafts and design writer, curator and cultural producer. She is currently Senior Curator at Western Sydney Creative, Western Sydney University. Formerly the Curatorial Director of JamFactory in Adelaide, Margaret has over 20 years of curatorial and cultural project management experience. Highlights in her curatorial practice include the national touring exhibitions within the JamFactory Icon series as well as the art design architecture touring series, the biannual presentation at JamFactory for the Tarnanthi Festival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Contemporary Art. Margaret has edited several books, and her arts writing has appeared in an array of publications and arts journals. Margaret was a peer assessor the Australia Council for the Arts (2016-2020) and Chair of the Regional Galleries Association of South Australia (2019-2020). In 2023, she received the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Award for Service Excellence.
