Firstdraft pays over $76,000 to artists
As well as being a popular fundraising initiative for our organisation, the Firstdraft Auction has become an important platform for distributing wealth back to artists.

The last 18 months have demonstrated and exacerbated the precarity of our communities, and over this time Firstdraft took steps to address this: we doubled artists' commissions to 50%, and transitioned to an online event – enabling us to connect more artists with more supporters, across Australia and around the world.
2021 marked our most successful auction ever, a result that enabled Firstdraft to pay $76,486.50 in commissions directly back to artists. We thank the artists and supporters who contribute to the success of the auction every year, and we look forward to reinstating a live event in the future.
