A new partnership supporting artists living outside of capital cities

Firstdraft is delighted to announce a new two-year reciprocal partnership with Metro Arts, Brisbane, supporting two artists living outside of capital cities – one from NSW and another from Queensland – to present new work across both organisations, in 2022 and 2023.

Our partnership creates investment in the production and presentation of new work, including artist fees and support towards research, travel and freight. Scaffolded by our shared commitment to creating new contexts and opportunities for artists living outside of capital cities, selected artists will receive key curatorial and professional mentorship across both presentations.

The first recipient will be selected through the 2022 Firstdraft Program Callout; the second recipient will be selected through the 2023 Metro Arts Program Callout. Full information about this opportunity will be released in December 2021 with the publication of the 2022 Firstdraft Program Callout.

Ahead of this, Firstdraft and Metro Arts will be conducting online video information sessions on 23, 24 and 25 November. To learn more about this opportunity, including your eligibility and how to apply, register your interest at the link below.
