Take it Easy, 2020 shows a seated figure holding bottles of Corona beer, suspended in anxious anticipation. Across the ocean, an unfamiliar virus loomed, a force so mysterious it would soon bring the world to a halt.

Emerging from the devastation of the 2019–2020 bushfires in Australia, new leaves in the composition suggest the beginnings of recovery. Yet this fragile renewal was quickly overshadowed by another crisis. The threat was invisible, but it carried an incredible calamity. What followed was the rupture of that period, when the world seemed suspended, waiting for what would come next. In the silence of that uncertainty, all we could say was take it easy, 2020.
